Keys cut perfectly and fast friendly service!! Vivian helped me and did an excellent job. Fitch’s charges one third of the price compared to the big chains and they do a better job. Also Vivian was able to duplicate all of my keys, even the one that was an unusual size

Very frustrating experience. My teammate went to pick up decking boards for a project we were working on, and I called to pay for the materials with my credit card over the phone. Instead of simply explaining their policy, I was told, “I don’t even know you to accept your payment over the phone.” The way it was handled was unnecessary and made us feel like we were being treated as if we were doing something wrong. We were simply trying to purchase materials and complete our project. Because of the situation, we had to go to another lumber store, which delayed our project until the next day and cost us both time and money. I understand that businesses have payment policies, but there are professional and respectful ways to communicate them. Unfortunately, this experience was frustrating enough that we will be taking our business elsewhere.

Simply a wonderful independent hardware store that stocks far more than one might expect from a local shop. A full lumber yard, small bolts and screws, full paint section, locks, electrical… but the best part is the knowledgeable staff. All that sitting in the middle of Carrboro, allowing us to skip the drive to the other side of Chapel Hill. May Fitch never close. Buy local. Support independent shops.
