  Ford dealership referred me to another company for my key but when I called them (on a Sunday morning) they said their car guy wasn’t working so I went with American Best Locksmith. David gave me a fair quote over the phone and said he’d be here in 30 minutes. He was there when he said he’d be, made a new key in 5 minutes, and the price was as quoted—much cheaper than dealership prices and with no up-charge for the weekend call. Edit: I guess it depends on the tech you get because when I called today, a different tech quoted $155-195 over the phone, and said he’d have an accurate quote when he gets there. He waited until the end of the service to say it’s $200. He accepted $180, which is what I paid just weeks prior with the previous tech, but the second impression left a pretty sour taste. Especially since the first tech had the same key fob the car came with and the second tech had a cheaper knockoff looking key, not to mention I had handed him a key already cut.
